Great Expectations: Oscar Red Carpet Predictions and Wishes

I was extremely honored when Elle.com asked me to share my predictions for this year's Oscar Red Carpet. Click here to see the six top-tier stylists share our expections and aspirations for what hollywood's biggest star's will wear for this year's Oscars.

MONICA ROSE: Scarlett Johansson

She Will : “Scarlett tends to wear very feminine silhouettes in neutrals and blush tones on the red carpet. I think she will be sticking with that palette and will wear something feminine and classic like this Oscar de la Renta gown (far left) from spring.”

I Wish: “I think this other Oscar de la Renta gown (right) would be amazing on Scarlett. The sweetheart neckline and corseted bodice in this two-tone gown would really give Scarlett a different look. She should finish off the look with retro-Hollywood red lips.”

MONICA ROSE: Amy Adams

She Will “Adams is always elegant on the red carpet, and she seems to be wearing a lot of formfitting dresses lately. I think she will go with a ball gown like this Oscar de la Renta dress (far left) that is a bit more dramatic than her usual silhouettes.”

I Wish : “I would really like to see Amy in a voluminous gown with corseted bodice such as this other Oscar de la Renta gown (right) from his S/S11 collection. It would be a nice change for her and worthy of such a momentous occasion.”

MONICA ROSE: Anne Hathaway

She Will: “Anne Hathaway is such a sophisticated and elegant young woman. Rachel Zoe always makes her look impeccable on the red carpet. She is one of my favorites to see for awards shows because she takes fashion risks. I think Anne will go for a gown in a neutral palette that is formfitting with lots of texture like this spring Marchesa gown (far left). The mermaid silhouette definitely works for her.”

I Wish: “I would love to see her in this ombré Marchesa gown (right) with delicate details and an avant-garde silhouette. If there is anyone who can pull off this gorgeous gown, it’s Anne. It would make a strong statement on the red carpet and would definitely be a dress to remember.”
